Environmental aggressors (such as sunlight, air pollution, or metals) form damaging free radicals that cause oxidative stress and accelerate the visible signs of ageing. To protect skin from the effects of free radicals, use an antioxidant like vitamin C each day. The central pillar of C E Ferulic, vitamin C neutralises free radicals and prevents oxidative stress.

Our Formulation Superiority

Developed through the research of our founder Dr. Pinnell at Duke University in the USA, the Duke Antioxidant patent outlines the parameters required for effective delivery of vitamin C to the skin:
1. Use l-ascorbic acid (pure vitamin C)
2. At a 10-20% concentration
3. An acidic pH within the range 2.0-3.5

If you’re a new user of vitamin C serums, we recommend starting out by incorporating this serum every other day to establish skin tolerance and building up to daily use.

Should I use C E Ferulic acid in the morning or at night?

SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic Serum is recommended for use in the morning for best results from its key ingredient, vitamin C. Its antioxidant properties can then support skin against environmental aggressors and free radical damage through the day. However, that doesn’t mean vitamin C skincare serums or moisturisers cannot be used at night as well. SkinCeuticals recommends limiting use to once a day for anyone with sensitive skin.

Do you use C E Ferulic before or after hyaluronic acid?

We recommend always using C E Ferulic Vitamin C serum before hyaluronic acid serums. This is because vitamin C is sensitive to air, light, and heat, which can reduce potency of the ingredient. Apply vitamin C serum to clean skin immediately after using a cleanser and toner (optional). After application, wait until the vitamin C serum is fully absorbed before layering a hyaluronic acid serum such as H.A. Intensifier Serum.
