Facial Moisturisers

A moisturiser is a type of skincare product formulated with ingredients to hydrate the skin by absorbing and locking moisture in, either from the external environment or internally. Moisturisers come in various consistencies, from fluid liquids through to richer creams, and can be formulated with active ingredients to address various skin concerns.

The right moisturiser benefits the skin by helping strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier that protects from environmental aggressors that contribute to photoageing and skin irritation. A moisturiser also helps to restore volume in the face, minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and support smoother, softer skin. Usually the term “moisturiser” refers to a lotion or cream that’s applied to the end of your skincare routine. • Combination skin and normal skin should focus on ingredients that restore balance, including hyaluronic acid, ceramides, niacinamide, glycerine, squalene, and some gentle alpha hydroxy acids.

Choose an anti-ageing moisturiser that contains ingredients that support the skin cell turnover cycle and promote collagen production, as these two functions both slow down as we age. Yes. Moisturising the skin on your face and body on a daily basis is necessary to maintain skin health. With age, production of molecules such as collagen or naturally occurring ingredients such as hyaluronic acid start to deplete, with the body not being able to make up for this depletion.
