HydraFacial® Peels at a Glance
This is a three-step process to deep-cleanse, exfoliate and hydrate the skin for visible skin refinement and a more radiant skin tone. It uses a form of dermabrasion called hydradermabrasion, where a powerful jet of liquid is aimed at the skin's surface and removes dead skin cells and debris. HydraFacial uses a proprietary handheld HydraPeel® tip that creates a vortex effect for more effective exfoliation. The final stage is the infusion of vitamins and peptides propelled onto the skin via the tip. Additional boosters and customised serums may also be added to the treatment for patient-specific results.
What to Know About HydraFacial®
This bespoke facial treatment uses a device similar to those used in microdermabrasion procedures, however a HydraFacial cleanses and exfoliates using water instead of crystals or diamond tips. The technical name for this process is hydradermabrasion.
A three-element aesthetic procedure, a HydraFacial involves cleansing, exfoliation, and infusion. The hydradermabrasion device uses a vortex water flow to deeply cleanse impurities from the pores while exfoliating and infusing the skin with nourishing ingredients. Each step is performed using the same handpiece and movements, with a wide degree of procedural customisation possible to suit a patient’s needs. The amount of suction and number of passes can be increased or decreased, and both the chemical exfoliant and hydrating serum can be varied. Targeted boosters can be added, as can extra modalities like LED light for additional effects.
HydraFacials are a popular pro treatment because of the potential for benefit without any discomfort or downtime. Unlike chemical peels or extractions, they are a relaxing experience that feels similar to a gentle facial massage.
