Broadband Light Therapy (BBL Laser) at a Glance

Broadband Light® therapy is a form of intense pulsed light treatment (IPL) that uses two flashlamps to send a broad spectrum of light energy to targeted layers of the skin. Light pulses are absorbed by in the skin, which is then transformed into heat. This heat causes collagen fibres to contract, which stimulates new collagen production. The skin rejuvenation treatment helps to address skin concerns such as unwanted pigment, visible signs of UV damage, blemishes and visible signs of ageing on the face, neck, chest, arms and hands.

What to know about Broadband Light® Therapy

To ensure best possible results from BBL® treatment, prep your skin with a gentle cleanser before your appointment. Avoid any exfoliating acids, retinol, or waxing for a week before treatment, as well as any direct UV exposure for 4-6 weeks. Disclose any medication you are currently taking or if you have a history of cold sores with your practitioner, so they can adjust the light intensity or session time accordingly.
