What is the difference between SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic and Phloretin CF?

The main differences between Phloretin CF and C E Ferulic serums are how they are formulated and the skin types they were designed for. Both contain vitamin C; however, one contains 2% phloretin with 0.5% ferulic acid and 10% l-ascorbic acid, whilst the other contains 15% l-ascorbic acid with 0.5% ferulic acid. Phloretin CF is designed for oily skin types, whereas C E Ferulic is more suitable for normal to dry skin types.

What is Phloretin CF Serum good for?

Phloretin CF Serum is packed with antioxidant goodness, with all three key ingredients: phloretin, ferulic acid, and vitamin c, being antioxidant powerhouses. Phloretin CF Serum protects the skin against environmental damage by neutralising free radicals. Should I use Phloretin CF in the morning or evening?

As with other vitamin C serums,SkinCeuticals recommended using Phloretin CF in the morning for best results. This is because vitamin C is an antioxidant that protects skin against environmental aggressors by neutralising free radicals. Apply 3-4 drops of the serum and wait for it to be absorbed into the skin before applying a hyaluronic acid serum or face moisturiser. Always end your morning routine with a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF30+ or more.

How often should you use SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF Serum?

Can you use Phloretin CF with retinol?

Although it is OK to use vitamin C and retinol on the same day, it isn't recommended that you use them within the same routine - for a few different reasons. Mixing these two can affect the pH levels of each, making them less effective and also possibly causing skin irritation. Another reason is that vitamin C is best applied in morning routines, whereas retinol is recommended for night use due to its potency increasing sun-sensitivity. How long does a bottle of Phloretin CF last after opened?

SkinCeuticals recommends using a bottle of Phloretin CF serum within three months of opening it. All SkinCeuticals antioxidant formulations have been tested in final packaging and confirmed to remain stable and effective for 30-36 months, and up to 6 months after opening. L-ascorbic acid may discolour with time, but oxidation is minimal and the formulation is proven to remain effective.
