Both C E Ferulic and Phloretin CF are high-potency antioxidant serums formulated with pure vitamin C, but they are designed for different skin types and concerns.

• C E Ferulic contains 15% L-ascorbic acid with 1% vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol) and 0.5% ferulic acid. It is best suited to normal to dry or mature skin types concerned with visible lines, firmness and photo-ageing.
• Phloretin CF contains 10% L-ascorbic acid, 2% phloretin and 0.5% ferulic acid, without vitamin E. This makes it particularly suitable for normal, oily and combination skin types, especially those targeting visible discolouration, uneven skin tone and early signs of ageing.

Can you use Phloretin CF with retinol?

Although it is OK to use vitamin C and retinol on the same day, it isn't recommended that you use them within the same routine - for a few different reasons. Mixing these two can affect the pH levels of each, making them less effective and also possibly causing skin irritation. Another reason is that vitamin C is best applied in morning routines, whereas retinol is recommended for night use due to its potency increasing sun-sensitivity. Vitamin C serums, including Phloretin CF, get darker in colour after opening from exposure to light and air. L-ascorbic acid may discolour with time, but oxidation is minimal and the formulation is proven to remain effective for up to 6 months after opening.

You may start to see results from Phloretin CF as quickly as four to six weeks. After 12 weeks, you will begin to see marked improvements such as more even skin tone, increased radiance, and reduced discolouration.

Phloretin CF can be used under and around the eye area, but it should not be applied directly to the eyelids or too close to the lash line. Apply a small amount carefully, avoiding direct contact with the eyes, and follow with your regular eye cream if desired.
