"Citric acid, found naturally in citrus fruits, is an ingredient included in the group known as alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs). AHAs have many benefits, primarily breaking down the bonds between old skin cells, to help them shed, and promoting increased cell turnover. The result of this is improved skin tone, unclogging of pores and improved skin texture. Citric acid is naturally astringent, which reduces skin oiliness and has unique antioxidant properties, making it an effective multi-purpose ingredient for anti-ageing and congestion. Citric acid is generally well tolerated, even in those with quite sensitive skin.”
